Job Title: Overnight Awake Youth Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Awake Youth Worker to join our team at WJS Canada.

Job Summary:

The Overnight Awake Youth Worker will provide overnight support to children and youth in care, ensuring a safe and healthy environment. This role requires a strong ability to handle crisis situations and provide emotional support to young individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide overnight support to children and youth in care, including regular bed checks and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Assist with daily routines, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Support youth in developing life skills, such as personal care and household management.
  • Collaborate with other team members to plan and deliver culturally appropriate programs and activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of youth in care, including administering medication and responding to emergencies.
  • Document incidents and provide written reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Child and Youth Work, preferably in a group home or community setting.
  • Experience working with Indigenous children and youth is an asset.
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Work, or a related field.
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate and training in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and medication administration.
  • Indigenous Awareness and cultural diversity training.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
