About the Role

BGC Canada is seeking a skilled professional to develop high-quality program resources for children and youth. The successful candidate will create engaging and effective curriculum for our Brain Gain program, which aims to enhance literacy and numeracy skills among children aged 6-12.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in curriculum design, teaching, and education, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, social-emotional regulation, and supporting neurodiverse learners. They will also be familiar with BGC Clubs and aligned with BGC Canada's Mission, Vision, and Values.

The program resources will be designed to support Club staff in creating environments where every moment becomes an opportunity for growth and discovery. The successful candidate will work closely with BGC Canada's team to develop a series of modules that promote numeracy and literacy skills, while considering adaptations for neurodivergent learners and updating play-based learning activities to reflect current best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality program resources, including curriculum, program manuals, and staff guides
  • Design engaging and effective learning activities that promote numeracy and literacy skills
  • Consider adaptations for neurodivergent learners and update play-based learning activities to reflect current best practices
  • Work closely with BGC Canada's team to ensure alignment with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Develop a series of modules that support Club staff in creating environments where every moment becomes an opportunity for growth and discovery
Requirements
  • Relevant credentials in teaching, education, or curriculum design
  • Experience in trauma-informed practices, social-emotional regulation, and supporting neurodiverse learners
  • Strong understanding of new literacy and numeracy pedagogy, including the Science of Reading and play-based/inquiry-based mathematics
  • Familiarity with BGC Clubs and alignment with BGC Canada's Mission, Vision, and Values
