Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist works collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and families to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal function in areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure. This role involves consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up in various settings, including hospitals, homes, and communities. The Occupational Therapist establishes individualized treatment plans and goals, manages a busy caseload, and utilizes clinical judgment and decision-making skills to prioritize daily tasks. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are essential for providing education and support to clients, families, and caregivers. The Occupational Therapist contributes to the clinical education of students and related health disciplines, adheres to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures, and maintains professional standards as a licensed member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
About You- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Be licensed with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients/clients, families, other healthcare providers, and staff
- Commit to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team, effectively planning, organizing, and supervising
- Be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
- Be able to work alone or with team members in all service settings
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Casual Relief
$33.80 - $42.68 Hourly
