Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist works collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and families to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal function in self-care, productivity, and leisure areas. This role involves consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up in hospital, home, and community settings. The Occupational Therapist establishes individualized treatment plans and goals, manages a busy caseload, and uses clinical judgment to prioritize issues daily. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The Occupational Therapist provides education and support to clients, families, and caregivers, and contributes to the clinical education of OT students and related health disciplines. This role adheres to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures and professional standards of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
About You- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Licensure with the provincial regulatory body, the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, is mandatory.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients/clients, families, other health care providers, and staff
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervising
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
- Must be able to work alone or with team members in all service settings
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Casual Relief
$33.80 - $42.68 Hourly
