Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist works under the supervision of the Manager of Rehabilitation Services, collaborating with clients, caregivers, and family members to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal function in self-care, productivity, and leisure areas. The OT provides consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up, working within the hospital, client's home, and community. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required, as the OT educates and supports clients, families, and caregivers, functioning as a member of an occupational therapy clinical team and an interprofessional hospital and/or community healthcare team.
About YouWe seek a highly skilled Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients/clients, families, other healthcare providers, and staff. A commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up services to clients
- Collaborate with clients, caregivers, and family members to establish individualized treatment plans and goals
- Manage a busy caseload and prioritize issues using clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers
- Function as a member of an occupational therapy clinical team and an interprofessional hospital and/or community healthcare team
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
The Occupational Therapist will work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, client's homes, and communities, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility and adaptability are essential in this role.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $42.68, with eligibility for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
