About the Role

Canderel is a leading real estate company committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment. We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Property Accountant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, and bank reconciliation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial and management reporting to management.
  • Maintain up-to-date accounting records for all properties, adhering to company guidelines and regulations.
  • Reconcile and remit QST/GST/HST and other legislated taxes and assessments in a timely manner.
  • Monitor cash flows and anticipate future cash deficiencies, arranging for funding as needed.
  • Determine surplus funds for distributions to owners.
  • Review and post monthly rent roll, and reconcile accounts receivable accounts when required.
  • Prepare accurate tenant chargebacks and operating costs and realty tax adjustments monthly.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Review and recommend changes to accounting/lease processes and procedures to improve internal controls and efficiencies.
  • Assist with the preparation for any audits or independent reviews in support of the auditors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/commerce or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in property accounting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs.
