Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner is a key member of the HR Management Team, responsible for the day-to-day administration of HR processes. This individual will support the HR Management Team in planning and implementing programs and processes around employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, talent management, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Execute HR Initiatives: Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and execute initiatives that drive business strategies and support the achievement of company goals.
  2. Facilitate Employee Relations: Facilitate effective communication and resolution of performance and conduct issues between employees and leadership.
  3. Support Employee Engagement: Encourage employee engagement and resolve employee relations issues through thorough and objective investigations.
  4. Ensure Compliance: Ensure that company procedures and policies are consistently and appropriately applied, and that all HR-related activities are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  5. Business Acumen: Understand Canada business priorities, context, issues, and challenges to recommend and implement real business solutions that drive performance and achieve results.
  6. Performance Management: Work with Canada leadership on the Performance Management and annual Talent Planning process, including succession planning, employee development, and potential rating.
  7. Talent Acquisition: Assist Talent Partners with the onboarding of new hires and ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
  8. Record Keeping: Ensure accurate and timely record keeping for Canada, including compliance with related statutory requirements.
  9. Health and Safety: Ensure that the Canadian Health & Safety committee operates in accordance with labor guidelines and that all HR-related activities are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  10. Guidance and Interpretation: Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies and procedures to employees and management.
  11. Staying Current: Stay current with key Canadian provincial laws and regulations.
  12. Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary company information.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with a minimum of 2 years in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
  3. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated depth and breadth of core areas of Human Resources, including talent management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruitment, leadership development, and more.
  4. HR Laws and Regulations: Strong knowledge and understanding of HR laws, requirements, and regulations for Canada.
  5. Designation: CHRP or similar designation preferred.
  6. Language: Fluent in both English and French preferred.
