We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team at EvenUp. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering a world-class employee experience, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and driving business growth through strategic HR initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Risk Management: Collaborate with leadership to implement changes, updates, and new policies to maintain compliance and mitigate risk, with a focus on Canadian employment laws and regulations.
- HR Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's business objectives, including talent management, employee engagement, and retention.
- Benefits and Compensation: Optimize our benefits offerings to provide value to our team while managing overall costs, and ensure that our compensation packages are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
- HR Systems and Processes: Own HR platforms, including Rippling, Wagepoint, Lattice, and Pave, and ensure that our HR systems and processes are efficient, effective, and scalable.
- Employee Experience: Partner closely with our Legal Operations team to support onboarding, employee relations, offboarding, and overall employee experience across multiple geographies.
- People Metrics and Analytics: Define and track people metrics to help us see around corners and uncover opportunities for improvement, and provide data-driven insights to inform business decisions.
- Leadership and Management: Directly manage our two-person People Operations team, helping them support the business and continue to grow in their roles, and serve as a proactive owner of our people operations processes.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Work closely with Finance on payroll administration and compliance, and manage our Canadian benefits program directly.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in an HR role, with some exposure to Canadian employment laws and regulations.
- Leadership and Management: Experience managing a team of People Operations professionals, and ideally some of those members have been based in Canada.
- HRIS and Technology: Experience working with HRIS configuration and integrations, including Rippling, and a strong understanding of HR technology.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Ability to understand and communicate tradeoffs, engage with legal counsel when necessary, and problem-solve quickly and effectively.
- Discretion and Confidentiality: Professional discretion and ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
