Job Summary

The Payment Services Coordinator will be responsible for processing transactions, ensuring timely and accurate settlement/payment of funds on assigned branch accounts in accordance with corporate risk policy and standard operating procedures.

About the Role

This position is part of an essential business unit within Global Services, responsible for processing payments received manually and electronically into Funds Transfer Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and process all activity in MTS, BESS, Rightfax, Holding File and IBS MT queues accurately, timely and by agent bank deadlines.
  • Ensure all assigned queues are cleared to meet established deadlines.
  • Ensure full understanding and adherence to corporate risk policy and standard operating procedures.
  • Make suggestions for workflow and process improvements to the benefit of State Street and our clients.
  • Identify and proactively escalate any potential trend of corrections in a timely manner.
  • Ensure errors are minimized; SSBT's exposure to financial loss is minimized, and provide process improvement ideas.
  • Interact constructively with clients, peers and management, participating in staff meetings.
  • Report any suspicious transactions to Team Leaders or Senior Officers within Payment Services.
  • Support the effective functioning of the department and the transition of workflow between different Geographical locations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in Cash Payment / Treasury Operations.
  • Knowledge in SWIFT message format.
  • Understanding of information technology and payment systems including MS office, SWIFT, RTGS and CLS.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, communications and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree holder in business studies is preferred but candidate with diploma or some relevant experience in the industry would be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
