About the Role:


We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital. As a vital member of our support team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment for our clients and their pets.



Responsibilities:



  • Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming environment for clients and their pets
  • Answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
  • Take initiative and work independently to schedule appointments, admit and discharge pet patients, and perform general housekeeping duties
  • Assist with invoicing, billing, and creating estimates and processing payments
  • Use a computer-based booking and records system to manage client information and appointments
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture


Requirements:



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and experience with booking and records systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration program certificate an asset
