Veterinary Assistant, Client Care Representative
Location: Mt. Uniacke, NS
Full-time and Part-time positions
The newly opened Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital welcomes you to help us grow our amazing hospital support team We have full-time and part-time opportunities for experienced Veterinary Assistants, Technician Assistants, Animal Care Attendants, and client care/ veterinary receptionist roles. At our small animal hospital, we strive to provide customer service we are proud of and treat our clients like family. Our business will be an active member in the community and we work as partners with our clients to provide the best quality care for their pets. Having a great culture is essential to our team. We work hard every day and want to have a good time in and out of the hospital. We enjoy fun activities together outside of work, celebrate events/wins, seek regular feedback from every team member and strive to improve as a place of work.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in an important support role for the entire hospital. In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated Responsibilities will vary depending on experience, and we will provide training and development with all roles for additional client care reception desk support. Candidates with advanced experiences in animal handling and care will also have opportunities to contribute in different areas throughout the hospital.
Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment
Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
Take initiative and work independently
Scheduling appointments; Admitting and discharging pet patients
Invoicing/billing; creating estimates and processing payments
General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
Ability to use a computer-based booking and records system (we will provide training on our specific system)
Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assist the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset
Schedules:
We are open to part-time and full-time schedules
All associates work a rotating schedule that includes some evenings and Saturday shifts, but no overnights, no Sundays or on-call options.
The option for only evenings can be reviewed as well

This location aims to provide veterinary services to all areas of Hants County and beyond. With extensive parking, this veterinary hospital will be easily accessible. As a full-service small animal veterinary hospital, Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital will offer an array of services to the community, including routine medical care, surgery, dentistry, and retail sales.
