Client Care and Veterinary Support Role
At VCA Canada, we are seeking a motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant - Client Care Representative. This role is an exceptional opportunity to provide exceptional customer service and support to our clients and their pets.
Responsibilities will vary depending on experience, and we will provide training and development to ensure success in this role. Candidates with advanced experiences in animal handling and care will also have opportunities to contribute in different areas throughout the hospital.
- Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment
- Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
- Take initiative and work independently
- Scheduling appointments; Admitting and discharging pet patients
- Invoicing/billing; creating estimates and processing payments
- General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
- Ability to use a computer-based booking and records system (we will provide training on our specific system)
- Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assist the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
- A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset
Schedules:
- We are open to part-time and full-time schedules
- All associates work a rotating schedule that includes some evenings and Saturday shifts, but no overnights, no Sundays or on-call options.
- The option for only evenings can be reviewed as well
