About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales and Rental Associate to join our team at Stephenson's Rental Services. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for coordinating the sale and rent of our in-store construction equipment, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the resolution of any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide enthusiastic and professional customer service, ensuring the resolution of any issues, both in person and over the phone
- Process the sale or rent of a variety of equipment, including general tools, lawn and garden equipment, generators, heaters, light and medium construction equipment, etc.
- Coordinate equipment delivery/pick up and booking equipment reservations using our Rental Management computer system
- Possess excellent knowledge on equipment such as operation, features, related accessories, safe operating techniques, and effectively transfer this knowledge to customers
- Anticipate product demand, track availability, and ensure equipment is 'rental ready'
- Probe customer's equipment needs and make informed merchandise suggestions while maximizing all up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
- Maintain inventory documentation and proper equipment levels to minimize stock outs and lost rentals
- Accurately enter and complete all work orders and related paperwork with respect to the sale or rent of equipment in order to preserve the integrity of our Rental Management computer system
- Participate in store merchandising objectives involving display changes, aisle/stock replenishment, and pricing
- Assist customers and store drivers with moving and loading/unloading equipment, and demonstrate its safe operation where required
- Adhere to and promote our Company Safety Policies, including wearing all required PPE
- General housekeeping, and maintain a tidy and safe store environment
- Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, with a strong preference for experience in equipment rental services, home improvement centers, or similar background
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and effectively able to deal with customers in person and on the phone
- Working knowledge and understanding of general tools and construction equipment is an asset
- Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- A G Driver's license with a clean abstract is a bonus
