We are seeking a talented Claims Specialist to join our Canada Claims team, where you will play a key role in providing specialized technical claim handling for primary and excess liability claims under our D&O, E&O, EPL, Crime, Cyber, and Media policies.

As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing liability and damages issues, managing external adjusters and counsel, and collaborating with insureds in the defence and resolution of claims. You will also be required to evaluate full pending of claims, maintain accurate reserves, and provide data and analytic-based informational support to underwriters.

We are looking for a motivated and technically proficient individual who possesses excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. A law degree or CIP designation is preferred, but not required. French language abilities are also an asset.

In this role, you will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be available for occasional travel and offsite meetings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze liability and damages issues in connection with primary and excess claims
  • Manage external adjusters and counsel, and collaborate with Insureds in the defence and resolution of claims
  • Evaluate full pending of claims in connection with the posting and maintaining of accurate reserves
  • Provide data and analytic-based informational support to underwriters
  • Provide support to underwriters with respect to marketing efforts, policy wording, and trending discussions
