About the Role

GALIAB & SONS FARMS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm workers and ensuring the smooth operation of our crop production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Farm Workers: Oversee the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Crop Management: Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting, and ensure that crop quality and production records are maintained.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, and perform general farm duties as required.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate work records and logs, and provide regular reports to management.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees, and contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Support for Youths: Participate in government or community programs that support youth employment, and help to develop the skills and knowledge of young employees.
  • Support for Veterans: Participate in government or community programs that support veterans, and contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people, and help to develop the skills and knowledge of Indigenous employees.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Participate in government or community programs that support visible minorities, and contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma in a relevant field, such as agriculture or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a farm operations or supervisory role.
  • Language: English language proficiency is required.
  • Work Term: Permanent full-time position.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
