About the Role

GALIAB & SONS FARMS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm workers and ensuring the smooth operation of our crop production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Farm Workers: Oversee the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure Farm Safety and Bio-Security: Implement and maintain farm safety and bio-security procedures to protect our employees, crops, and equipment.
  • Maintain Quality Control and Production Records: Monitor and record crop quality, production levels, and other relevant data to inform decision-making and improve farm operations.
  • Operate and Maintain Farm Machinery and Equipment: Ensure that all farm equipment is properly maintained and operated to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Perform General Farm Duties: Assist with various farm tasks, including plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees, promoting diversity and inclusion in our workplace.
  • Support for Youths: Engage with government or community initiatives that support youth employment, helping to develop the next generation of agricultural leaders.
  • Support for Veterans: Participate in programs that support veterans, recognizing the valuable skills and experience they bring to our team.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Engage with initiatives that support Indigenous people, promoting reconciliation and inclusion in our workplace.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Participate in programs that support visible minorities, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma in a relevant field, such as agriculture or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in farm operations or a related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Term: Permanent position.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
