We are seeking an experienced Estimating Coordinator to join our team at Prodigy Group. As an Estimating Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our project bids and tenders, utilizing your industry-based experience to provide unique and strategic insight into competitive bidding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the estimating team in preparing project bids and tenders, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Maintain effective relationships with specialty subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups, reflecting and supporting Prodigy's core values.
  • Research historical tendering and award data, compiling information in an organized and clear format for team reference and use towards strategizing bid/tender opportunities.
  • Research data on construction industry labor and material cost trends.
  • Update and maintain Tender/Supplier lists according to varying project and company requirements.
  • Provide preliminary search efforts and alert the Chief Estimator/Director, Pre-Construction of bid opportunities from public/private tender sites/forums.
  • Assist in the bid/proposal process, ensuring that new project documents are downloaded and distributed per Estimating Team direction, subcontractors/Suppliers are called and bid intent is tracked, and draft and distribute Requests for Information.
  • Draft Meeting Minutes for internal Estimating Team meetings.
  • Assist with preparing estimate/bid documentation, including project specific tender bidder's lists, drafting and sending Invitation to Bid to subcontractors and suppliers, and completing and reviewing all quantity take-offs.
  • Provide various administrative support, including photocopying, printing, Boardroom set-up and clean-up for meetings, binding, courier, assembling packaging documents and other project elements.
Requirements
  • Diploma of Collegial Studies or equivalent.
  • General experience using MS Office Suite, On-Screen Take Off, Bluebeam/Adobe, MS Project, and Procore.
  • Local experience in estimating as a general contractor and/or construction manager is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in and support a strong team concept and be highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptionally strong, professional, positive, effective, clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • General knowledge and basic understanding of construction documents, construction science, sequence of work, construction contracts, construction law, construction health & safety, and Ontario and other regional/provincial building codes.
