Job Summary:

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructor, Arts Education to join our team. As an Instructor, Arts Education, you will be responsible for designing, teaching, and evaluating creative introductory to advanced instructional programs in theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and multi-media arts for all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality arts education programs for diverse audiences
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students of all ages and abilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement arts education initiatives
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for students and their families

Requirements:

  • Completion of a university/college degree in Fine Arts, Art History, and/or education in one or more of the following arts disciplines: theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, or multi-media arts
  • Minimum of 5 years of practicing and/or teaching experience in related arts discipline
  • Previous experience working with all ages in an arts instructional setting
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
  • High Five training courses
