Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced instructor to join our team in delivering high-quality arts programs for children. As an Intermediate Arts Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and evaluating creative introductory to intermediate instructional programs in theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, and multi-media arts.

About the Role

This is a part-time permanent position with up to 24 hours of work per week. You will be working with diverse age groups and creating engaging arts programs that cater to their needs and abilities. Your role will involve developing and delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality arts programs for children, incorporating various mediums and techniques.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Contribute to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in arts education and instruction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or Art History, and/or Education in one or more arts disciplines (theatre, dance, music, visual, literary, or multi-media arts).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience practicing and/or teaching in a related arts discipline.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates.
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training and High Five training courses.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey enthusiasm and creative energies about related disciplines.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of various age groups and their learning abilities.
Salary Information

The salary for this position is $30,441 - $43,448 per year, based on a 24-hour workweek.
