Job Title: Child Protection Worker

At Lac La Ronge Indian Child & Family Services Agency, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Protection Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Child Protection Worker will be responsible for investigating complaints of child abuse and neglect, assessing risk factors, and providing intervention services to preserve the family unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate complaints of child abuse and neglect, and determine the need for intervention services.
  • Assess risk factors to children and families using the Structured Decision-Making process.
  • Develop and implement case plans, documentation, and legal agreements in accordance with the Family Centered Case Management Manual.
  • Provide intervention services and problem-solving solutions to address identified risk factors.
  • Collaborate with Prevention Services in family group conferencing, case conferences, and case planning.
  • Refer families to appropriate agencies for counseling services, addictions treatment, child assessment, and other necessary support.
  • Prepare documentation and attend Family Services Court as required.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date file documentation.
  • Apprehend children when necessary.
  • Provide informational sessions regarding ICFS to the community as directed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (BISW) degree.
  • Recent and satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse Record, and Driver's Abstract Clearance.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
