About the Role:

Thrive Group Canada is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at St. Peter's Residence.

As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and delivering therapeutic recreation programs and interventions that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, organize, and deliver resident-focused therapeutic recreation programs and interventions in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and community partners to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  3. Collaborate with other recreation team members to plan special events and activities that promote socialization, engagement, and overall well-being.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  5. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident participation, program evaluation, and other relevant data.

Requirements:

  1. College diploma or university degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
  2. Experience working with seniors, individuals with dementia, and other populations with complex needs.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  4. Knowledge of recreation therapy principles and practices, with a focus on therapeutic recreation and leisure activities.
  5. Certification in First Aid/CPR and a willingness to maintain ongoing professional development.
