Recreation Services Manager

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the development and delivery of quality leisure and therapeutic recreational programs at AbleLiving Services Transitional Care Bed (TCB) Sites. The successful candidate will oversee the supervision of recreation staff and programming at TCB sites, as well as liaise with Program Coordinators at Community Supportive Housing, Congregate and Outreach programs to develop recreational based programming that meets the unique needs of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver quality leisure and therapeutic recreational programs that improve and maintain the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of clients.
  • Oversee the supervision of recreation staff and programming at TCB sites.
  • Liaise with Program Coordinators at Community Supportive Housing, Congregate and Outreach programs to develop recreational based programming.
  • Recruit, select, train and perform the duties of direct reports.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies, Kinesiology or other related field.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Current knowledge in the field of Gerontology and Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, an advantage.
  • Possesses excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Alayacare, Point Click Care or other Medical documentation databases and time and attendance systems.
