Job Overview
Boart Longyear is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic Specialist to join their team in Red Lake, Ontario.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing drilling equipment and mobile support equipment used within the scope of Boart Longyear Drilling operations. This will involve inspecting equipment, diagnosing faults, adjusting equipment, and performing routine maintenance work.
Main Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Perform repair work on all Boart Longyear Drilling equipment
- Maintain, adjust and repair specialty attachments or components
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Millwright or Heavy-Duty Mechanic Trade Certification (Red Seal)
- Completion of secondary school and three- to five-year apprenticeship program
- Valid driver's license
- Standard First Aid
- Underground common core and Basic Safety Orientation would be an asset
