Mental Health Nursing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Nursing Specialist to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients/residents/clients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
About the RoleThis role is ideal for a registered psychiatric nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and making a positive impact in their community. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow professionally and develop your skills in areas such as mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling. You will also be supported by our experienced team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients/residents/clients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures;
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and develop individualized care plans;
- Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver holistic care;
- Care for patients/residents/clients with complex mental health needs;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients/residents/clients, families, and caregivers;
$62,311 - $83,310 per year
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
- A current Graduate active licensure from the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM);
- Active practicing licensure with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba or eligible for active practicing licensure with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM);
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training;
- Successful completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI);
- Successful completion of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST);
- Knowledge, competence, and ability to demonstrate clinical nursing skills and concepts in accordance with approved nursing standards;
- Ability to make effective decisions regarding nursing care;
- Basic knowledge and skills to work with computers, and electronic software programs;
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently;
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and clients;
- Satisfactory employment record required;
We offer a competitive salary range of $62,311 - $83,310 per year, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
