Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Supervisor to join our team at Atlantic Packaging. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our shipping department, ensuring that all orders are processed and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of goods to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Ensure adequate equipment and staffing levels to support the operation
  • Identify and resolve issues that may impact deliveries or warehouse operations
  • Lead and develop a team of shipping staff, including training, performance management, and recruitment
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency of the shipping department, with a focus on reducing costs while maintaining high service levels
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of inspections and checklists
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage weekly crew schedules
  • Monitor and report overtime

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a shipping supervisory role in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and systems
  • Knowledge of OH&S Act, First Aid, and CPR
