Job Summary:

The Waste Management Operator is a key member of our team at the Municipal Group of Companies, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Class 3, Front Loader Refuse vehicle. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a Front Load truck in a safe and efficient manner on assigned routes to fill contractual requirements
  • Ensure assigned routes are completed in a timely and secure manner
  • Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of trucks assigned
  • Communicate with dispatchers to determine routes and schedules
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions
  • Maintain radio contact with supervisors to receive delivery instructions
  • Report any driving infractions and suspensions
  • Perform end-of-day driver check-ins to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Protect and promote the interests of the company in all matters
  • Ensure the safety of fellow employees

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driver's license with clean driver abstract
  • Class 3 driver's license in good standing
  • Ability to follow a firm work schedule as directed by supervisor
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Effective communication with co-workers and supervisors
  • Strong customer focus
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Previous waste and recycling experience preferred
  • Residential curbside collection experience preferred
