Job Title: Route Driver Class 5E

At Daniels Health, we are seeking a reliable and skilled Route Driver Class 5E to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting products/waste containers in accordance with scheduled routes and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and communicate minor and major defects to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Load and unload truck by securing items to prevent damage and complete daily driver log book using HOS application on mobile device.
  • Ensure all materials are properly packaged and orders are complete prior to trip departure.
  • Deliver and collect products/waste containers in accordance with scheduled route and provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete Daniels' commercial vehicle cleaning and disinfecting protocol on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab using cleaners provided by the company.
  • Accurately record information on packing slip and manifest, ensuring compliance with TDG Regulations.
  • Maintain safe operation by complying with organization operational policies, procedures and standards, as well as local driving rules and regulations.
  • Operate vehicle in a defensive manner to prevent motor vehicle accidents.
  • Comply with all environmental & health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect all waste at pick-up for packaging to ensure adherence to compliance regulations.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
  • Class 5 with air Licence.
  • Minimum of 12 months verifiable, related behind the wheel driving experience (within last 36 months).
  • Clean CVOR and Driver's Abstract (dated within last 30 days).
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, such as reference check, background check, pre-employment medical test and a driver's road test or equivalent.
  • Ability and knowledge to safely load and properly block, brace, and secure materials.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all customers.
  • Ability to drive the vehicle safely in accordance with all traffic regulations.
  • Ability to complete compliance paperwork and all shipping documents/bill of ladings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (such as holidays and weekends) in order to complete routes in accordance with schedules.
  • Ability to adhere to all internal policies, as well as all federal and provincial legislative requirements.
