Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Route Driver - Class 5E to join our team at Daniels Health. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting medical waste and supplies to our customers across the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any defects to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Load and unload truck by placing and securing items to prevent damage to products and the truck.
  • Ensure all materials are properly packaged and orders are complete and accurate prior to trip departure.
  • Deliver and collect products/waste containers in accordance with scheduled routes and provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete daily driver log book using HOS application on mobile device.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab and complete daily cleaning and disinfecting protocol.
  • Accurately record information on packing slip and manifest to ensure compliance with TDG Regulations.
  • Operate vehicle in a defensive manner to prevent motor vehicle accidents.
  • Comply with all environmental and health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Class 5 with air license.
  • Minimum of 12 months verifiable, related behind the wheel driving experience.
  • Clean CVOR and Driver's Abstract.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, such as reference check, background check, pre-employment medical test and a driver's road test or equivalent.
  • Ability to safely load and properly block, brace, and secure materials.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all customers.
  • Ability to drive the vehicle safely in accordance with all traffic regulations.
  • Ability to complete compliance paperwork and all shipping documents/bill of ladings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, to complete routes in accordance with schedules.
