Accounts Payable Supervisor Job Description

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our corporate finance team at our head office in Cambridge, Ontario.

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable department, supporting office managers and Executive Directors, and ensuring timely and proper reporting to the corporate reporting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accounts payable department and support office managers and Executive Directors as needed.
  • Monitor monthly performance metrics as they relate to payables, guide key team members to meet goals, and ensure timely proper reporting to the corporate reporting team.
  • Perform monthly closing activities for the AP function.
  • Oversee cheque runs and EFT payments.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures for the department.
  • Work with operations to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
  • Prepare AP reporting packages for management.
  • Assist with audit requests.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a high-volume AP role.
  • Proven supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary in areas of business, accounting or related field considered an asset.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.
  • An in-depth understanding of the senior care continuum is considered an asset.
  • An analytical mind and good math skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral).
  • Organizational and leadership skills.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CAPP) is a plus.
