About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Kelowna General Hospital. As a Social Worker, you will provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct psychosocial care, counseling, system navigation, and advocacy to clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Facilitate client self-management and provide education on relevant specialized complex care resources.
  • Develop and maintain social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being of the identified population.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in an ICU or acute care environment.
  • Strong assessment and care planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
