Business Development Specialist

The Business Development Specialist guides product development from conception to launch while collaborating closely with technical leads, delivery managers, business sponsors and subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with clients to understand business requirements, document them, and translate them into functional requirement specifications
  • Orchestrate backlog, prioritize/update requirements, and write quality user stories
  • Gather and process business information related to procedures and data to clarify business issues/requirements
  • Balance and satisfy needs of the business, end user and technical stakeholders ensuring alternatives have been investigated and there is an understanding of implementation trade-offs
  • Facilitate relationships with team and clients in the project room and ensure a high degree of engagement resulting in a shared understanding of requirements, plans, implementation and delivery realities
  • Ensure quality of the developed solution: it meets business functional requirements and is production-ready
  • Facilitate agile practices and ceremonies within the project team
  • Support the planning, management and delivery of project deliverables in the project room
  • Identify project scope and timeline risks/issues and facilitate or escalate for resolution
  • Collaborate with development team to deliver projects on-time and to the client's satisfaction
  • Collaborate with technical leads to ensure successful delivery of development scope and goals
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 2+ years of business analysis experience
  • Solid understanding of technology
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for Agile approaches to software development
  • Ability to consolidate diverse business requirements and facilitate realistic, common sense solutions
  • Proven client-facing, partnership and presentation skills
  • Strong facilitation, planning, organization and problem solving skills
