Job Summary:

Baycrest Health Sciences offers a comprehensive range of outpatient clinics and specialist services, providing patients with convenient access to medical care. As a Registered Nurse in our Ambulatory Medical Specialty Clinics, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our interdisciplinary care teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sound clinical knowledge and skills, acting as a clinical expert and resource to deliver comprehensive, quality patient-centered healthcare services.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing interventions, including medications and treatments within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to meet the personal care, activation, recreation, and spiritual needs of patients.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of each specialty clinic as part of an inter-professional team.
  • Work closely with medical specialty physicians to establish patient care plans.
Qualifications:
  • Current registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate, Level C - Automated External Device.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, Master's preferred.
  • Experience working in a busy clinic environment.
  • Knowledge and experience working with patients with memory disorders and dementia care.
  • Highly developed clinical assessment skills for patients with complex medical, cognitive, and social needs.
  • Knowledge of brain anatomy and physiology.
  • Psychogeriatric experience, including memory assessment and intervention in working with responsive behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability to take professional accountability for leading, organizing, providing, and delegating care activities for patients and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills - Meditech, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.
