About the Opportunity

The Pharmacist will be responsible for the procurement and dispensing of medications, as well as their safe and effective use by patients. They will also provide information about the optimal use of medications and promote the cost-effectiveness of medications through evidence-based decision making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice, with a focus on patient-centered care and inter-professional collaboration. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
  • Two (2) years recent related experience an asset
  • Completion of a hospital residency program an asset
  • Member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists an asset
  • Computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of pharmacokinetics relevant to area of practice/populations served
  • Demonstrated accountability
  • Demonstrated judgement and decision making skills
  • Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships
  • Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation

  • Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health

Hours and Compensation

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours bi-weekly, with a competitive hourly rate of $53.24. They will also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
