Clinical Pharmacy Services Pharmacist

As a key member of our team, the Pharmacist will play a vital role in ensuring safe and effective drug therapy. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, the successful candidate will oversee drug distribution systems, supervise pharmacy support staff, and identify and resolve drug-related problems. Key responsibilities include providing clinical pharmacy services, such as drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, and pharmacokinetic monitoring. The Pharmacist will also provide individual and group patient medication teaching, drug information, and educational programs. Additionally, the candidate will work on selected medical services, participate in medical rounds, and provide discharge medication calendars and counselling to patients. A strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics is essential, as is the ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry-level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP-accredited university, with a minimum of two years' experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team. To be successful, you will have a strong background in pharmacy, with a focus on clinical practice. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, working closely with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care. A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Hours
This is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule.
Compensation and Incentives
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $43.67 - $53.24 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry-level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP-accredited university, with a minimum of two years' experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting. You will also need to be licensed to practice pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia and have a strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics.
Preferred Qualifications
A completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program is preferred, as is a strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.
