About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Resolute Forest Products Inc. in Thunder Bay, Ontario. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects and maintenance activities at our sawmill operations in Northwestern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate assigned projects and maintenance activities, schedule manpower, and organize shutdowns and other major tasks.
  • Maintain liaison between operations, engineering, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise job construction sites and analyze job performance in the field.
  • Verify the availability of project parts, materials, and special tools required for execution.
  • Estimate the cost of project labor and materials.
  • Research information for new project work and utilize feedback to improve job plans.
  • Work closely with supervisors, operators, and skilled trade groups to ensure effective project execution.
Requirements
  • Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineer degree.
  • 5+ years' experience in related industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, communicate with all levels of the organization, and adapt quickly to change.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Autocad, MS Word, and Excel.
