Job Title: School Counsellor

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Counsellor to join our team at the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to students in a school setting, promoting positive mental health, social, and emotional well-being. They will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students receive the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with and counsel students in a school setting
  • Refer students to appropriate healthcare agencies and providers when necessary
  • Liaise with administrators, teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals
  • Work with teachers and student leaders to promote positive mental health and social and emotional well-being
  • Contribute to the co-curricular and extra-curricular life of the school
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Counselling
  • Teaching Certification preferred
  • Compassion and care for the mental well-being of young people
  • Understanding of and affinity for working in a Catholic school environment
  • Dynamic, energetic, and willing to work collaboratively with other counsellors and teachers
