About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic School Counsellor to join our team at the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese. As a School Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental well-being of our students and promoting a positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with and counsel young people in a school setting to address their mental health needs
  • Refer students to appropriate health care agencies and providers when necessary
  • Liaise with administrators, teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to student support
  • Work with teachers and student leaders to promote positive mental health, social and emotional well-being, and academic success
  • Contribute to the co-curricular and extra-curricular life of the school
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Counselling
  • Teaching Certification preferred
  • Understanding of and affinity for working in a Catholic school environment
  • Compassion and care for the mental well-being of young people
  • Dynamic, energetic, and willing to work collaboratively with other counsellors and teachers
