Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Consultant II to join our team at the Department of Health and Social Services in Whitehorse, Yukon. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and coaching to managers and employees in all areas of HR management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & staffing: developing recruitment plans, managing job postings, and conducting interviews
  • Performance management: developing performance management systems, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance issues
  • Organizational development: analyzing organizational needs, developing training programs, and implementing change initiatives
  • Employee wellness and accommodation: developing employee wellness programs, accommodating employees with disabilities, and managing return-to-work programs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recent experience providing leadership and coaching to managers and employees in all areas of HR management
  • Experience problem solving difficult issues, and providing advice and options to clients
  • Recent experience working in an organization with standardized processes (such as legislation, policies, procedures, or frameworks)
  • Post secondary education in business administration, organizational development, human resources, leadership and employee management, communications/marketing, or other related fields
