About the Role:

The Transitional Worker will play a vital role in fostering a positive and healthy environment for young adults in our care. This position requires a strong understanding of social services, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to provide comprehensive support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young adults in developing and achieving their personal goals, including accessing education, employment, and recreational opportunities.
  • Provide case management services, including connecting clients with community resources, advocating on their behalf, and facilitating access to therapy and healing services.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of transitional housing facilities, promoting a safe and healthy living environment.
  • Organize outings and accompany clients to appointments, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with Agency units to ensure seamless service delivery and client outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in social services or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous child welfare practices, The Child and Family Services Act, and An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Metis children, youth and families.
  • Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of Anishinaabe cultural beliefs and values.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those with addiction and trauma issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and community partners.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
