At Southeast Child Family Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Transitional Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Transitional Worker will play a vital role in fostering a positive and healthy environment for young adults in our Transitional Program. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a strong understanding of social services, cultural sensitivity, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young adults in developing and achieving their personal goals, providing wrap-around services as needed.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as accessing food, clothing, and medical needs, and facilitate connections with community resources.
  • Coordinate outings and appointments, and provide case management support as required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of transitional housing facilities, promoting a healthy living environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in social services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including The Child and Family Services Act and Indigenous child welfare practices.
  • Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of Anishinaabe cultural beliefs and values.
  • Lived experience with addiction and recovery considered an asset.
  • Experience providing supports for trauma, crisis, and addiction issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory background checks and ability to travel to First Nations communities as required.
