At Novelis, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Facilities Leadership Position. This role will provide leadership, direction, and support in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within our plant.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. They will have 5+ years of work experience in a field of mechanical engineering and facilities specific experience, which is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the fundamentals of reliability, able to write specifications, and facilitate bids from contractors and suppliers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, installation, and commissioning of capital expenditures
  • Evaluate equipment, troubleshoot, and work to build efficiencies and best practices
  • Support production needs through crane maintenance in tight schedules and/or equipment failures
  • Develop SOPs and training programs on processes and equipment for tradespeople and operators
Working Conditions

This role will require working at a 24/7 facility, being available as needed to support operations. The successful applicant will need to be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
