About the Role

Novelis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities team at the Kingston Works site. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within our plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of capital projects to improve the reliability and efficiency of our mechanical systems
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical system issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and procedures
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance personnel
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and product quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on facilities and equipment maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
