Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Rail Construction Program is seeking a highly skilled professional to oversee traffic management for the Stage 2 Light Rail Transit project. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing traffic submittals, monitoring and tracking traffic works, and performing site visits to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze traffic control plans and staging design drawings to ensure compliance with City regulations and standards
  • Monitor and track traffic works, including traffic closures and disruptions, to minimize impacts on the public
  • Collaborate with the City's traffic services team to develop and implement traffic management strategies
  • Interface with contractors and stakeholders to coordinate traffic-related activities and resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of traffic works and related activities
Requirements
  • 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning, with a transportation focus
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in traffic-related project management
  • Strong knowledge of City of Ottawa Official Plan, Transportation Master Plan, and Provincial Environmental Assessment/Highway Traffic/Municipal Acts
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
