Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled Excavating Machine Operator to join our team at Leading Edge Earthworks. As an Excavating Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and bulldozers to excavate and move earth and other materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to excavate and move earth and other materials.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
- Measure distance, volume, length, and weight of materials.
- Operate computer-controlled equipment and GPS navigation systems.
- Understand and follow material safety data sheets (MSDS) and other safety protocols.
- Complete onboard and other logs as required.
- Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment.
- Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field.
- Physically demanding work environment.
- Fast-paced environment with overtime required.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
