About the Role

This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing the human resources and organizational development functions within the Government of Canada - Western. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the organization's strategic direction and ensuring the effective implementation of policies and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive human resources strategies to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance on organizational development initiatives, including talent management, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to establish and maintain a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters employee engagement and well-being.
  • Develop and manage budgets to support human resources and organizational development initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in negotiations and other official functions, ensuring that the organization's interests are represented and protected.
  • Lead and manage a team of human resources professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of human resources services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field, such as human resources, business administration, or organizational development.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior human resources or organizational development role, preferably in a government or public sector organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective human resources strategies and organizational development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leaders, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations.
