Job Title: Social Worker I

Job Summary:

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. As a Social Worker, you will provide clinical and consultative social work services to clients and families, conducting social assessments, providing counseling services, and maintaining records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and consultative social work services to clients and families
  • Conduct social assessments and provide counseling services
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Attend interdisciplinary clinical/case conferences
  • Identify and facilitate access to community resources

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work
  • One year of post-Bachelor of Social Work experience or successful completion of a practicum in a healthcare setting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of systems thinking and social work process
  • Basic knowledge of counseling skills
  • Basic knowledge of other health disciplines and their role in healthcare
  • Basic knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct social assessments and apply systems theory to practice
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
