Social Worker I - MSW - Adult MHSUS Mental Health Services
Join our team at BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services, a leading provider of mental health and substance use services in British Columbia.
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-social assessments to identify client needs and develop effective intervention plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide individual, family, and group counseling services, as well as case management and care coordination.
- Provide consultative services to clients, families, and healthcare professionals on issues related to adult guardianship, advanced directives, and government policies.
- Develop and maintain client records, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes, in accordance with established standards and policies.
- Participate in research and special projects to advance the field of social work and improve clinical practices.
What You Bring
- Master of Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work and one year of post-Bachelor of Social Work experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
Skills and Knowledge
- Broad knowledge of systems thinking and its application to social work practice.
- Experience working with diverse populations and healthcare disciplines.
- Understanding of research methodology and its application to social work practice.
- Counselling skills and clinical practice models.
- Family, group, and change therapy experience.
- Knowledge of legislation and government policies related to mental health and substance use.
- Awareness of and commitment to reconciliation and Indigenous cultural safety.
