Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Community Development to lead our team and drive the development of the city's vision and strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, planning, and directing all operations and activities related to community development, ensuring alignment with the city's goals and objectives.

This key leadership role requires a solid communicator who can develop effective relationships with staff, elected officials, the public, and neighboring municipalities and partners. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of team leadership, human resources experience, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community development strategies that align with the city's vision and goals
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals involved in community development initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, businesses, and other government agencies
  • Collaborate with senior management to ensure effective communication and coordination across departments
Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:

  • A degree, diploma, or certificate in public administration, urban planning, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in community development, preferably in a municipal setting
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a focus on building strong relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $165,000 - $175,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is also available, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings options.
