Interior Health Authority is seeking an experienced Addiction Services Manager to lead the delivery of harm reduction services across the region.

About the Role

The Addiction Services Manager provides strategic leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of harm reduction services. This includes assessing regional needs, developing partnerships with health professionals, community groups, and individuals with lived experience, and coordinating initiatives to support harm reduction strategies.

This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders, including contracted service providers, community organizations, and internal staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement harm reduction strategies, initiatives, and services across the region.
  • Liaise with the Medical Health Officer, program managers, and other internal partners to ensure effective systems, practices, and policies are in place to support harm reduction goals.
  • Collaborate with contracted service providers to develop practice guidelines, procedures, and standards to promote consistent best practice service delivery.
  • Advocate for the development of a range of support services and strategies to enhance knowledge, skills, resources, and supports for target populations.
  • Promote public awareness of harm reduction principles, policies, and programs through the creation of program materials and presentations.
  • Participate in committees, task groups, and/or community initiatives to promote collaboration on harm reduction efforts and local policy development.
  • Monitor harm reduction contracts, including vendor achievement of deliverables and financial performance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, nursing, public health) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in leading harm reduction initiatives, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with harm reduction strategies, practices, and policies.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including individuals with lived experience, community organizations, and health professionals.
