Overview

We are seeking a Technical Product Development Lead to join our Visualization R&D team in Burnaby, British Columbia.

This role is responsible for leading and managing new product development programs. The successful candidate will plan and manage program budget and spend, schedule, and request resources from cross-functional managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage program execution and deliverables - scope, schedule, and costs
  • Core team leader for assigned NPD programs
  • Partner with functional managers to ensure sufficient resources are identified and allocated to the program
  • Collaborate with Core team to define program scope, development budget, and determine timelines
  • Establish master program schedule and milestones
  • Coordinate OpEx, capital, and prototyping expenses
  • Identify and create plan to mitigate program risks
  • Implement new technologies to advance medical device designs using appropriate materials and processes that can be transferred to production and manufacturing
  • Participate in business development activities such as supplier agreements, cost reduction requests, and NPD roadmap planning
  • Maintain team member accountability for achieving expectations and completing assignments
  • Apply knowledge of program management tools and methodologies: Agile, Visual and Daily management, Core teams; Risk management and V&V model

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technical field of study; Masters or advanced engineering degree preferred; PMP certification preferred
  • 5+ years of leading technical product development using an NPD process
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate and influence multi-disciplinary teams and personnel
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Technical expertise in imaging, handheld or mobile devices, or electro-mechanical products preferred
  • Product development experience with medical devices specific to diagnostic imaging preferred
  • Travel up to 15% of the time is required

Compensation: $88,697 - $138,119 per annum (based on skills, experience, and location)
